Motor vehicle collision

Belleville – At 5:30 P.M. on the 24th of June police, fire and ambulance responded to the report of a vehicle that was driven into the Moira River. The vehicle that was being operated by a 56 year old female resident of Belleville lost control while southbound along the stretch of Cannifton Rd. south of The Wellness Centre and was driven over the embankment and into the water. Three passerby’s entered the river to assist the driver, who was the lone occupant, get out of the vehicle safely and to shore. She was not injured as a result of the accident but was issued a provincial offence notice for careless driving.
