Belleville, Ontario - On 14 January, 2011 Belleville Police Service requested the public's assistance in relation to a rash of Break and Enter investigations to residences in the 200 to 300 block of Moira Street East. These incidents occurred in the weeks preceding the public notice.
At that time, it was reported that the culprit(s) were gaining entry via the main entrance doors and stealing personal and food items. These break and enters occurred at various times throughout the day and night.
After an extensive investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division an arrest was made on 1 March, 2011.
Humberto Amtunes (23 years) of Belleville has been charged with:
- 1 count of Break and Enter
- 2 counts of Attempt Theft (Under $5000.00)
- 2 counts of Mischief (Under $5000.00)
- 1 count of Assault
- 1 count of Uttering Threats
- 1 count of Possession of a weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- 1 count of Threats with a Weapon
- 1 count of Possession of a Controlled Substance
Humberto Amtunes will appear for a bail hearing on 25 March, 2011.
Second Arrest in Robberies
Belleville, Ontario ? On 24 March, 2011 another arrest was made as a result of the continuing investigation by the Belleville Police Service into the recent spate of armed robberies in Belleville and Frankford. The following person has been arrested and charged with 3 counts of robbery.
Darl Alan Hill (62 years) of Deseronto has been charge with 3 counts of robbery from incidents that occurred in Belleville (one at a convenience store on Sidney Street and one at a pharmacy on Dundas Street East) and an incident from a convenience store in Frankford. Hill will appear in Provincial Court on 31 March, 2011.
