Motor vehicle collision

 

Belleville, Ontario – On March 24th, 2018, at 11:41 a.m. police attended on College Street West at Village Drive in regards to a two-car collision. A 26-year-old woman was charged with failing to yield. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. There were no injuries.

 

Traffic stops

 

Belleville, Ontario – On March 24th, 2018, at 1:58 p.m. an officer on patrol initiated a traffic stop on Coleman Street. The driver was confirmed to be a prohibited driver. 30-year-old Joseph Thomas Dunkley of Belleville was arrested and charged with driving while prohibited. He will appear in criminal court on April 26th, 2018. His car was impounded for 45 days under the Vehicle Impoundment Program.

 

On March 25th, 2018, at12:50 a.m. an officer on patrol observed a car on North Front Street weaving within its lane. The car was stopped and the driver was arrested for impaired driving. Once at the station the driver refused to provide samples of his breath. 35-year-old Bradley Chapin of Brighton was charged with impaired driving and refusing to provide a breath sample. His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days. He will appear in court on April 12th, 2018.

 

 

Disturbance

 

Belleville, Ontario – On March 24th, 2018, at 4:22 p.m. officers attended at Belleville General Hospital in relation to an unruly patient. A 38-year-old Belleville woman was arrested for breach of the peace. Alcohol was a factor in this incident.

 

Break and Enter

 

Belleville, Ontario – On March 25th, 2018, at 1:00 a.m. officers attended on Elizabeth Crescent in relation to a break and enter. A neighbour reported hearing the sound of breaking glass and observed a male running southbound. Officers attended on Cooke Court and located a male in a backyard. The male was arrested and stolen property was recovered including a box with car ramps. Officers determined that a window had been broken on a garage at a residence on Elizabeth Crescent. The 28-year-old Belleville man was held for a bail hearing on March 25th, 2018 on charges of break and enter with intent, two counts of possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, attempted escape from lawful custody, and two counts of prowling by night.
