Arrested on warrants
Belleville, Ontario – On May 24th, 2017, at 1:53 p.m. police attended on Prince of Wales Drive in relation to a suspicious male. The male was making inappropriate comments beside a school. The male claimed to be a “music rapper” out of Kingston. A check revealed that he was wanted by Quinte West OPP on outstanding warrants. During the arrest the male spat in the faces of the three officers. Once at the station, the male spat again at one of the officers. The 25-year-old Quinte West man was charged with four counts of assaulting a police officer and one count of breach of probation. He was held for a bail hearing on May 25th, 2017.
Belleville, Ontario – On May 24th, 2017, police received numerous complaints from people who were contacted by the “CRA”. The CRA callers would tell people that they owed money for back taxes and that they would be going to jail. In some instances people were encouraged to purchase Walmart cards or I Tunes cards to settle their debts. The CRA is a fictitious group with no affiliation to Revenue Canada.
Another caller was looking on-line at a house for rent. The caller “googled” the address and a different house appeared on the screen. This house had a for sale sign for a local realty company. The caller confirmed through the realtor that the first advertisement was fraudulent.
Belleville, Ontario – The Belleville Police Service is looking for the public’s assistance in locating 30-year old April Lawes-Bell, of NFA. A warrant was issued for her arrest for the offence of break and enter to a home on Selena Avenue in April.
