Belleville, Ont. ? On October 25, 2009, police received three reports of fires being deliberately set between 1:00 p.m., and 9:00 p.m., a resident on Russell Street reported suspects set fire to a pile of newspapers sitting at the rear of her residence. The fire was extinguished and no damage was received to her home as a result of this fire. Another fire was reported at approximately 2:00 p.m., on Black Diamond Road at the site of an old gas station. The fire was set to an old couch at this location. A male driving a white Pontiac Parisienne was seen fleeing from the area. The fire was extinguished by the witnesses. The last fire was reported at 8:50 p.m., a mattress was set on fire at the rear of a Palmer Road apartment building in the parking garage. The mattress was completely destroyed by the fire, but no other damage was received. The Belleville Fire Department attended and extinguished the fire. These incidents are still under investigation.
Theft
Belleville, Ont. ? On October 25, 2009, a Dundas Street East restaurant was defrauded of food and alcohol. Two males and one female were in the restaurant for approximately three hours. During that time they purchased food and several drinks, not only for themselves but for other patrons in the restaurant. The three left the bar without paying the final bill. One male is described as 6?2?, 250 lbs, with a tattoo of the Devil?s face on his right forearm. All three suspects were in their 50?s. The suspects were driving a red mini van. This theft is still under investigation.
Assault & Mischief
Belleville, Ont. ? On October 25, 2009, at 2:25 a.m., a cab driver was assaulted and his taxi damaged by two passengers he had picked up at Little Texas on North front Street. The two suspects had requested that one of them be dropped off at a Cannifton Road address and the other at a Bridge Street West address. One of the passengers became verbally abusive towards the cab driver and kicked out the passenger window of the cab while the second male punched the cab driver on the back of the head. The two suspects fled from the vehicle. One of the males is described as being bald, wearing a gray shirt with dark stripes. The second male has red hair, wearing glasses, black ball hat, black sweater, jeans and is approximately 6?. This incident is still under investigation.
