Lost Dog – Belleville, Ont.

At approximately 7:30 pm on September 24, 2012 officers were called to a Murney Street residence to investigate a report of a lost or stolen dog. The resident reported that at approximately 3:30 pm her six month old Chihuahua got out onto the street and they could not locate her. The dog's name is "Bella” and she is described as being white with tan spots. She was not wearing a collar. A neighbour reported seeing a woman in a silver Buick Rendezvous stop and pick up the dog and it is unclear whether she was attempting to return it or if she intended to steal it. The owner has contacted the Quinte Humane Society and anyone with any information about the dog's whereabouts is asked to call them or the Belleville Police Service at 613-966-0882.

Theft – Belleville, Ont.

At approximately 7:50 pm on September 24, 2012 a resident of Kensington Crescent contacted police to report the theft of her Mastercraft push lawnmower. The complainant advised that her son had been cutting the grass and stopped when the mower ran out of fuel. He left it at the edge of the lawn near the sidewalk and when he returned a white male in described as being in his 50's with a stocky build and grey hair had pulled up with an older red GMC or Chevrolet pick up truck and took off with the mower. It is described as having a grey bottom and red top and is valued at approximately $300-$400. It is not clear at this time if the suspect mistook the lawnmower as garbage due to its placement near the sidewalk. Anyone with any information about the identity of the driver is asked to call the Belleville Police Service at 613-966-0882.
