Assault with a Weapon

At approximately 12:25 am on April 26, 2009 officers were called to a Tracey Park Drive residence to investigate a report of a Domestic Dispute. Upon arrival they found a female who had sustained minor injuries when she was struck on the head with an ATV helmet by her boyfriend. She did not require medical attention and the male was located at a nearby house and arrested. A 52 year old Belleville man faces a charge of Assault with a Weapon. He was later released on a Promise to Appear.

Intoxicated Female

At approximately 12:46 am on April 26, 2009 officers on routine patrol in the parking lot of a North Front Street bar observed an intoxicated female who assaulted another female by pushing her to the ground. She was arrested for her own protection under the Liquor Licence Act and transported to the Belleville Police Service. A 26 year old Belleville woman was charged with Public Intoxication and later released from custody.

R.I.D.E. Program

Officers with the Belleville Police Service R.I.D.E. team were out on the evening of April 25-26th. 783 cars were stopped and one driver was charged criminally for Driving While Disqualified. He was found to have been driving a vehicle without an Ignition Interlock Device as he was required to by the courts after an Impaired Driving conviction. A 26 year old male from Cobourg was arrested and released on an Appearance Notice at the scene. There were no arrests for Impaired Driving and no 12 hour Licence Suspensions were issued.

Warrants

Belleville, On- At approximately 2:30 pm police received information on the location of a male wanted on Warrants from Belleville Police Service for uttering threats. The male was located in a vehicle in the north end of the city and arrested without incident. The 35 year old male from Brighton was eventually released with a court date in May.
