Motor Vehicle Collisions

Belleville, Ontario – On December 25th, 2017, at 9:11 a.m. police responded to a two-car accident on Grier Street. A car had backed out of a driveway and struck another vehicle. No one was injured; no charges.

On December 25th, 2017, at 10:14 a.m. police responded to a two-car accident on Bridge Street East at Plaza Square. EMS attended at the scene to treat one party for minor injuries. One of the vehicles was towed from the scene. A 58-year-old Picton man was charged with failing to yield to traffic.


Family Disputes

Belleville, Ontario – On December 25th, 2017, police attended at eight family disputes throughout the City. All matters were resolved with no charges being laid.


Intoxicated Persons

Belleville, Ontario – On December 25th, 2017, at 4:20 p.m. police attended on Wellington Street in relation to an intoxicated male passed out on the street. The male was treated by EMS and transported to BGH. No charges arising.

On December 26th, at 12:26 a.m. police attended at a downtown tavern in relation to an assault complaint. Two parties left the bar without incident. No charges in this matter.

On December 26th, 2017, at 4:40 a.m. police attended a disturbance on John Street.  An officer observed a male running with no shirt on. An 18-year-old male was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. A further check revealed that he was wanted by Centre Hastings OPP on outstanding warrants. These charges included Mischief under $5000.00 and failing to appear in court. A check back at the residence revealed that he had assaulted one of the occupants. He was charged with one count of assault and will appear in court on January 25th, 2018. The victim did not require medical attention.
