Break and Enter Investigation leads to charges in Multiple Break and Enter Cases
On Friday, June 16th, 2017, the Belleville Police Service entered into an investigation of a Break and Enter at a residence in the east end of Belleville. The B&E occurred between 12:00-15:00hrs and suspects made entry through a rear door. Investigation lead to the arrest of two people in the area. Upon their arrest they were found to be in possession of items from the break and enter and other items believed to be linked to previous break and enters in the City of Belleville.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division assisted by the Forensic Identification Unit executed a search warrant at the residence of the accused. That search resulted in the recovery of numerous items linked to previous break and enters in the city over the past several months. Police recovered assorted jewelry including watches, necklaces, rings, earrings, bracelets, musical instruments, cameras, cell phones, passports, wallets, controlled and prescription drugs, and an assortment of personal identification.
32-year old Ashley Christine Hubmann of Belleville, Ontario has been charged with;
9 counts of Breaking, Entering and Committing Theft
9 counts of Possessing Property Obtained by Crime
1 count of Possession of a Controlled Substance under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
34-year old Ronald Kevin Joseph McCloskey of Belleville, Ontario has been charged with;
10 counts of Breaking, Entering and Committing Theft
10 counts of Possessing Property Obtained by Crime
2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
Both were held for bail hearings with Hubmann being later released on a recognizance with a court date of July 6th. McCloskey remains in custody and has a court date on July 29th.
Police have cleared eight residential break and enters as a result, and investigations are continuing to locate owners of the remaining property.
