Knife call

Belleville, Ontario – On March 22nd, 2018, at 2:35 p.m. police attended on Sidney Street regarding an assault complaint. One youth had been struck in the face while a second youth had brandished a knife. On March 25th, 2018 two young persons attended at the station with their parents regarding these allegations. A 15-year-old youth was charged with assault while a 14 year-old youth was charged with weapons dangerous. Both will appear in Youth Court in April. Their names cannot be released due to the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. No one was injured.


Intoxicated Male

Belleville, Ontario – On March 26th, 2018, at 12:32 a.m. officers attended on Front Street regarding an intoxicated male on the sidewalk. A 47-year-old Belleville man was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. He was issued a provincial offence notice for being intoxicated in a public place.


Arrested on warrants

Belleville, Ontario – On March 26th, 2018, at 2:04 a.m. an officer conducted a traffic stop on Bell Blvd. A check on the driver revealed that he was wanted by the Prince Edward County OPP for the offence of assault.  The 42-year-old Belleville man was arrested on the strength of the warrant and turned over to the OPP. The driver was cautioned for his original speeding offence.
