The Belleville Police Service responded to 71 calls for service between 25 Sept 2019 0500 and

26 Sept 2019 0500.


Belleville Ont, On 25 September 2019 at 530 pm officers attended on Millennium drive in

regards to 2 males attempting to leave a business with a large quantity of merchandise, without

paying. Store security observed the males and attempted to stop them. They left the merchandise

and ran. One male was located behind the store and the other left in a vehicle. A 24 yr old male

from Quebec was arrested and charged with theft under 5000.00. Antoine Dufour,

was held for a bail hearing on 26 September 2019.


Impaired Driving

Belleville Ont, On 25 September 2019 at 945 pm witnesses called police in regards to a vehicle

they were following southbound on Haig Rd. They reported that the vehicle was all over the road

and was driving through stop signs. The vehicle was observed to pull into the rear of a building

on Haig Rd. Officers attended and arrested the driver for impaired driving. The male provided

samples of breath, and as a result he was charged with impaired driving and over 80. Francis

Solmes a 36 yr old from the Stirling area was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date

in October.



Belleville Ont, On 26 September 2019 at 1210 am officers responded to an establishment on

North Front St in regards to a fight. Upon arrival they observed a male bleeding from his face and

shoe marks on his head. He was transported to BGH by ambulance with moderate injuries.

Shawn Hiddleston a 32 yr old from Belleville was charged with one count of assault causing

bodily harm. He was released on a Promise to Appear and Officer in Charge Undertaking. He has

a court date in October.
