Belleville – At approximately 4:45 P.M. on the 26th of July, police attended a north end retail store in regards to a 29 year old female shoplifter. Investigation revealed that she attempted to steal over $200 dollars’ worth of merchandise and was arrested by store security. She was not charged criminally but was issued a provincial offence notice for engaging in prohibited activity on private property.



Breach of probation

Belleville – Shortly after 6:00 P.M. on the 26th of July, police we’re called to a north end business in regards to an unwanted male causing a disturbance. The male was gone prior to police attending but investigation revealed that he was on a probation order not to attend that location due to a previous conviction for a domestic related offence. Police are now looking to arrest the 28 year old Belleville resident for breaching his probation. Names are being withheld to protect the identity of the original victim in the domestic.



Public intoxication

BellevilleA 31 year old Trenton male spent the night in cells last night after police exhausted all measures to find him an alternative place to stay. The male was located at approximately 10:30 P.M. on the 26th of July in the downtown area and after not being able to locate friend’s that the male claimed to have in Belleville where he could stay police had no recourse but to lodge him in local cells for his own protection due to the level of his intoxication. He was released in the morning on provincial offence notice for public intoxication.


Further, at 11:30 P.M. on the 26th of July police were called to a north end apartment complex with regards to an intoxicated female causing a disturbance in the parking lot. An 18 year old Belleville resident was arrested for public intoxication and taken to The Belleville Police Service where she was lodged in cells until morning when she was also released on a provincial offence notice for public intoxication.
