Charges Laid ? Break & Enter to Chumleighs

Belleville, Ontario - On April 8th & 9th 2010, Chumleighs Buy and Sell on Front Street was broken into. On the 8th at approximately 3:00 a.m., suspects gained access by entering through a vent in the roof. Once inside suspects removed several items. The suspects then left through the rear door of the business. The actions of the suspects were caught on video surveillance.

In the early morning hours of the 9th suspects again broke into the business by entering through the roof. This entry occurred at approximately 3:20 a.m. Suspects removed several items however this time exited the same way they came in. Again their actions were captured on video surveillance.

The owner of the business posted photo's of the suspects inside the store in the hope members of the public would assist in identifying the suspects. As a result of this police received information that assisted in identifying the persons responsible.

John COLLINGRIDGE, 26 years old from the City of Belleville has been charged with two counts of Break and Enter, one count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and one count of Breach of Probation. COLLINGRIDGE was released with a court date set in June 2010.

A 17 year old female, from the City of Belleville, has been charged with one count each of Break and Enter and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. She was released with a June 2010 court date. The name of the female cannot be released due to the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Police are continuing their investigation.

Mischief(s) - Spray Painting

Belleville, Ontario ? On April 26, 2010 police received two new complaints of Mischief to property similar to what had been reported over the weekend. Two businesses one on Dussek Street and one on Starling Street reported suspects spray painted their property sometime over the weekend. The business owner on Starling Street reported suspects sprayed painted the word ?Weed' on the wall of their building and the suspects spray painted two tracker trailers and a truck on the property on Dussek Street.
