Traffic Stops

Belleville, Ontario – On April 26th, 2017, at 9:40 a.m. an officer conducted a traffic stop on Lewis Street after recognizing that the driver was a prohibited driver. 68-year-old James Turnbull of Belleville was charged with driving while prohibited. He will appear in criminal court on May 25th, 2017. His vehicle was impounded for 45 days.

On April 26th, 2017, at 2:44 p.m. a traffic stop on West Moira Street revealed that the driver had a warrant for his arrest. The 20-year-old Cobourg man was wanted by Northumberland OPP. He was taken into custody and turned over to the OPP.

Motor Vehicle Collisions

Belleville, Ontario – On April 26th, 2017, at 3:51 p.m. police attended on Dundas Street West at Bay Bridge Road in relation to a two-car accident. One car was towed from the scene. A 62-year-old woman was charged with disobeying a red light. There were no injuries.

 

 

On April 26th, 2017, at 3:59 p.m. police attended on Bridge Street East at Burnham Street in relation to a two-car accident. One car was towed from the scene. A 52-year- old man was charged with careless driving. There were no injuries.

 

 

On April 26th, 2017, at 4:05 p.m. police attended at the Bridge Street West and Sidney Street intersection. Both cars were towed from the scene. A 57-year-old woman was charged with making an unsafe turn. There were no injuries.

 

Break and Enter

 

Belleville, Ontario – On April 26th, 2017, at 9:00 a.m. police attended at a residence on Sinclair St. in relation to a break and enter. Unknown person(s) entered the home prior to 9:00 a.m. and removed a black Apple Ipad. The investigation is continuing.

 

 

On April 26th, 2017, at 5:15 p.m. police attended at a residence on Bridge Street East in relation to a break and enter. Unknown person(s) entered the home between 1:00 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. and removed electronics and jewelry. The investigation is continuing.

 

 

 

Weapons Call

 

Belleville, Ontario – On April 26th, 2017 at 5:40 p.m. officers attended at a neighbour dispute in the City’s east end. One of the neighbours had brandished a knife during the confrontation. A 32-year-old Belleville woman was arrested and charged with assault, uttering death threats, weapons dangerous, and assault with a weapon. She will appear in court on May 25th, 2017. The victim, an adult male, was not injured.

 

 

 

R.I.D.E.  Program

 

Belleville, Ontario – On April 26th, 2017, at 11:09 p.m. officers conducted a joint RIDE initiative with Tyendinaga police on Old Hwy 2 at Mitchell Road. A total of 63 vehicles were checked. One roadside test was administered and the driver passed. There were no charges.
