Accident – car vs cyclist

 

Belleville, Ontario – On August 26th, 2014, at 1:38 p.m. a cyclist was struck by a car on Coleman Street at Catharine Street.  The cyclist was taken to Quinte Health Care by EMS for treatment of minor injuries.  The driver of the car was charged with careless driving.

 

 

Break and Enter

 

Belleville, Ontario –On August 26th, 2014, between 10:45 a.m. 1:30 a.m. unknown person(s) entered a home on Wright Avenue. A quantity of cash was stolen.  Any information can be forwarded to Constable Marcotte or to Quinte Crimestoppers.

 

 

 

Shoplifter//resist arrest

 

Belleville, Ontario –On August 26th, 2014, at 5:45 p.m. police attended at an east end grocery store in relation to a shoplifter who had resisted arrest and fled on foot from store security.  A 34 year old Belleville man was located in a backyard on Rosewood Avenue.  He was charged with theft under $5000.00 and resist arrest. He will appear in court on October 9th, 2014. No one was injured in this incident.

 

 

 

Impaired Driver

 

Belleville, Ontario –On August 26th, 2014, at 11:40 p.m. police attended in the Station Street in relation to a disturbance.  A vehicle was observed near the scene. When signaled to stop by the police the car drove away.  The car eventually pulled over after several blocks.  The driver, a 27 year old Belleville woman, was arrested for impaired driving.  A 3 year old toddler was located in the back seat without a car seat.  Two open bottles of alcohol were removed from the childs’ diaper bag. The child was eventually re-united with grandparents. The woman will appear in court on September 11th, 2014 on charges of Impaired Driving, Over 80 mgs, and failing to ensure that a child is secured in a car seat.
