Motor Vehicle Collision

Belleville, Ontario ? On 26 June 2011, at 11:04 p.m. a serious motor vehicle collision occurred on Old Highway 2west of Burns Road. A westbound electronic bicycle (e-bike) was being driven by a 53 year old male from Belleville and was struck from behind by a westbound1998 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. This vehicle was being operated by a 39 year old female from Shannonville.The driver of the e-bike was transported to BellevilleGeneral Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Monte Carlo was arrested andcharged with one count of Impaired Operation of Motor Vehicle Cause Bodily Harm and one count of Operation of Motor Vehicle with More than 80 milligrams of Alcohol Cause Bodily Harm.

Angel Brix will appear in Provincial court on 28 July 2011.

The road was closed approximately 4 hours to allow members of the Traffic Management Unit and Forensic Identification Section to complete a reconstruction investigation.

Break and Enter(s)

Belleville, Ontario ? On 24 June, 2011 at 7:33 a.m., police attended at a business on Front Street in response to a complaint of a break and enter. The culprits forced entry via the front door and stole cash.

Belleville, Ontario ? On 26 June, 2011 at 12:18 a.m., police attended at a residence on Lewis Street in response to a complaint of a break and enter that occurred between 3:30 p.m. and midnight. The culprits entered the residence via a window and stole personal items and cash.

Belleville, Ontario ? On 27 June, 2011 at 4:05 a.m., police attended at a business located on Pine Street in response to a complaint of a break and enter that is believed to have occurred sometime around 3:45 a.m..

Indecent Act

Belleville, Ontario ? On 26 June, 2011 at 7:58 a.m., police attended in the area of Keegan Parkway and Herchimer Avenue in response to a complaint of a male that exposed his genital while walking on Riverfront Trail. The male is described as being white, in his thirties with light colored shaved or balding hair, approx 5'6" with a stocky build wearing a black T-shirt (faded unknown design) with gray long track pants and running shoes. Police searched the area but did not locate the male. Police are reminding the public to report any suspicious persons or activities.
