Break, enter&theft

Belleville, Ontario - a Bay Street resident reported their house was entered sometime during the day and ransacked. Unknown at this time what was taken. Still under investigation.

Train/Vehicle Collision

On the 26th of June 2012 at 3:25pm, Belleville Police, Belleville Fire, and Hastings / Quinte EMSwere called to a level train crossing behind # 383 Dundas St W, in relation to a motor vehicle that had collided with a Canadian Pacific freight train.

The lone occupant in the motor vehicle, a 87 yr old male fromPrince Edward County,was ejected and sustained life threatening injuries. He was transported to Quinte HealthCare - Belleville General Hospital, and subsequently transferred to Kingston General Hospital. There were noinjures to the train crew. The name of the victim is currently being withheld.

The investigation is ongoing in partenership with CP Police, and any witnesses are asked to contact Constable Brad Stittof the Traffic Management Unit at (613) 966-0882 ext 2233.
