Theft from Motor Vehicles
Belleville, Ont. ? On May 27, 2009, sometime over night unknown suspects entered two vehicles in the North West end of the city. Both vehicles had been left unlocked. Tools and vehicle identification were taken from one vehicle while vehicle identification was removed from the other vehicle. Policing are reminding citizens to secure their vehicles when parked.
Motor Vehicle Collisions
Belleville, Ont. ? On May 27, 2009, at approximately 9:30 a.m., officers responded to a single motor vehicle motorcycle accident on Dundas Street West and Palmer Road. The motorcycle driver attempted to stop for amber light and lost control on the slippery road. The driver received minor injuries and the bike received minor damage.
Belleville, Ont. ? On May 27, 2009, at approximately 11:45 a.m., officers investigated a two vehicle motor vehicle collision on College Street at Reynolds Crescent. It is alleged a 37 year old Thurlow woman rear ended another vehicle. The driver was charged with Careless Driving under the Highway Traffic Act.
(Police investigated a total of 5 motor vehicle collision on May 27th, between 9am and 4pm. All were related to the weather conditions)
Belleville, Ont. ? On May 27, 2009, at approximately 7:00 p.m., Belleville Police travelled to Hawkesbury, Ontario to pick up a 25 year old male who was wanted on Belleville warrants for one count of Sexual Assault and two counts of Fail to Comply. The original offence of sexual assault is alleged to have occurred here in the City of Belleville in February 2008. The accused is being held for a Bail Hearing on May 28, 2009.
Mischief and Theft
Belleville, Ont. ? On May 27, 2009, Belleville Police received two reports of theft from Bell Canada telephone booths. In both cases the money vault was pried from the telephone booths and money was taken. One booth was located on Dundas East and one at Bridge Street West. Both thefts are currently under investigation.
Driving While Impaired
Belleville, Ont. ? On May 27, 2009, shortly after 2a.m., an officer on patrol checked a vehicle on north Sidney St and found that the driver had been drinking. A 30 year old Plainfield male charged with Having Excess of 80mgs and released on a Promise to Appear.
