Theft and Fraud Investigation Results in Arrest and Charges

Members of the Belleville Police Service Criminal Investigations Unit have charged a 37-year-old Belleville woman in relation to internal thefts from a local retail store.

Earlier this month, police were approached regarding the actions of a female employee at the business who had recently been dismissed. An investigation revealed that over a two year period – stretching from June 2014 to May 2016 - the woman had stolen over $10,000 from the retail store.

On Thursday, May 26, 2016, police arrested and charged Christine Eva SHEAHAN of Belleville, Ontario with the following offences:

 

  • Theft Over $5,000;

  • Fraud Over $5,000;

  • Money Laundering

 

SHEAHAN was released on a Promise to Appear and Undertaking with OIC conditions with a court date of June 30, 2016.
