Theft
Belleville, Ont. ? On October 27, 2009, 5:30 p.m., police responded to a disturbance on North Front St. Information was received that two males were fighting in a plaza parking lot. It was alleged that one of the males had taken property from a vehicle parked on the lot. A 50 year old Stirling male was arrested charged with Theft Under. He was released on a Promise to Appear with a December court date.
Single Motor Vehicle Collision
Belleville, Ont. ? On October 27, 2009, 8:43 p.m., police were dispatched to Keegan parkway regarding a single motor vehicle collision. Police located an abandoned vehicle on the side of the road. It appeared the vehicle had been travelling at a high rate of speed when it struck a hydro pole. The air bags had been deployed however the occupants had fled from the scene. Police located the driver walking in the area and short time later. A 36 year old Belleville male was charged with Fail to Remain and Fail to Report an Accident contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario. No injuries were reported as a result of this accident.
Possession of Stolen Property
Belleville, Ont. ? On October 27, 2009, 11:10 a.m., a Bridge Street West store reported three males in the store acting suspiciously. One of the male?s left the store without paying for items he had taken. A store employee advised police the three had fled on the run. Police located the three males and a 14 year old Plainfield youth was arrested and charged with Possession of Stolen Property. He was released with a Promise to Appear OIC Undertaking. He will appear in court in December. The youth?s name cannot be released due to the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Fraud, Threats & Weapons
Belleville, Ont. ? On October 27, 2009, 5:47 p.m., police received information of a male attempting to obtain medication from a Dundas Street East pharmacy using a fraudulent prescription. Further information was received that the male had left the pharmacy and could be seen outside and at one point held a hunting knife to his throat. The suspect was last seen driving from the area. Police stopped the vehicle on Dundas Street East and a 60 year old Trenton man was arrested and charged with one count each of Utter Threats, Utter Forged Document and Weapons Dangerous. He was later released on a Promise to Appear with a court date set in December.
