Belleville, Ontario The Belleville Police Service responded to 5 accidents within a 90 minute-period on October 26th:
At 11:47 a.m., police attended at Hwy 62 at Millenium Parkway in relation to a two car accident. One driver was charged with failing to yield.
At 12:15 p.m., police attended on the east side of the Quinte Mall parking lot as two cars had collided head-on. The airbags deployed in one of the vehicles. Minor injuries were sustained by one of the drivers. No charges laid because of the accident occurring on private property.
At 12:51 p.m., police attended at a minor accident in a Bell Blvd. parking lot.
At 12:54 p.m., police attended at North Front Street and Strachan in relation to a two-car accident. One vehicle was towed from the scene.
At 1:12 p.m. police attended at North Front Street and Bell Blvd. in relation to a car accident. Minor injuries were reported in this accident.
A 6th accident occurred at 7:45 p.m. as two cars collided on Dundas Street East at William Street.
Break and Enter
Belleville, Ontario On October 26th, 2013, at 2:15 p.m. police attended at a residence on Bridge Street West in relation to a break-in that had occurred sometime overnight. Taken was expensive camera equipment. Any information on this break-in can be forwarded to Cst. Waite of the Belleville Police Service or Crimestoppers.
Theft of medication
Belleville, Ontario On October 26th, at 2:38 p.m., a woman advised that her lost purse from October 25th had been returned to her. Closer examination revealed that she was missing a bankcard as well as medication in the form of a bottle of nitroglycerin. Anyone who may come across this heart medication should contact Belleville Police Service.
Belleville, Ontario On October 26th, at 3:08 p.m. police attended at a residence on Sidney Street in relation to a large fight. A 31 year old Belleville man was taken into custody when it was learned that the fight stemmed from an earlier domestic assault. The accused was damaging property in the home when a woman intervened. She was punched in the face by the accused. The accused brandished a knife and held it to the face of another woman. This woman was also threatened. Another male came to the rescue of the women and punched the accused. The accused was the only person who required medical attention. He has been held for a bail hearing on October 28th on charges of assault, assault with a weapon, weapons dangerous, and uttering death threats.
Belleville, Ontario On October 27th, at 1:35 a.m. police attended in the parking lot of 290 North Front Street in relation to a disturbance. Two males were arrested for their own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. One is a 21 year old Quinte West man while the other is a 19 year old Prince Edward County man.
At 1:55 a.m. police attended in the parking lot of 366 North Front Street and arrested a 23 year old Quinte West man for public intoxication.
At 2:21 a.m. police attended in the parking lot of 366 North Front Street and arrested an unknown woman for public intoxication.
At 3:30 a.m. police attended at 290 North Front Street as a woman was threatening staff members. A 23 year old Deseronto woman was arrested for breach of the peace.
Belleville, Ontario Officers conducted a RIDE check in the City overnight checking 124 vehicles. One motorist received a three day licence suspension after registering a "warn. This vehicle was towed.
Another motorist was checked by officers in a drive-through in the City's east end. An open bottle of liquor was seized and the driver was charged with having open alcohol in a vehicle. There was no proof of insurance and the vehicle was towed.
One of the officers on patrol conducted a traffic stop and another driver received a three day licence suspension after registering a "warn.
