Liquor License Act
Belleville, Ont. - On September 27, 2009, at 1:50 a.m., police were in the area of North Front St and Bell Blvd when they were approached by a male who demanded a ride home by police. This male was clearly very intoxicated. Police advised that call volume would not allow for this and advised him to call a cab, to which he stated "no" and continued to demand a ride from police.
The male had two friends with him at the time; however, as he became more demanding in his directions to police, his friends then left him. Being angry at the direction being given to him by police, the suspect punched the side of the police cruiser. A 19 year old Parry Sound male was arrested and charged with Intoxicated in a Public Place contrary to the Liquor Licence Act.
