Belleville, Ont. ? On August 28, 2009, sometime over night thieves broke in a garage on Blessington Road. Residents woke to discover unknown person had forced entry into their garage. A small amount of cash and alcohol was taken. This incident is currently under investigation.
Belleville, Ont. ? On August 28, 2009, at 2:49 a.m., an officer patrol observed a group of four males walking westbound on Victoria Avenue. The officer recognized one of the males as having a warrant for his arrest.
Police arrested a 15 year old Belleville youth on outstanding warrants for Breach of Recognizance. The youth was further charged with two counts of Breach of Recognizance as he was on conditions to abstain from communicating directly or indirectly with any persons known to have a criminal record and one of the three males with him did in fact have a Criminal Record. He was on conditions to not to be away from his residence without his Surety. At the he was spoken to by police his Surety was not present. The accused will be held for a bail hearing on 28 August 2009.
Belleville, Ont. ? On August 28, 2009, two car dealerships north of Belleville received damage to a number of vehicles parked in their lots overnight. Suspects smashed the wind shield and/or passenger/driver windows of three vehicles parked in the first lot and three vehicles received similar damage while parked in the second lot.
Another vehicle parked in a lot on Front Street also had its wind shield smashed over night.
A Business on Dundas Street West had its front window smashed out. Sometime over night unknown persons threw a grappling hook through front window. Nothing was taken from inside the business.
Another Dundas Street West business sustained damage as unknown persons smashed a light post and mailbox.
Belleville, Ont. ? On August 28, 2009, at approximately 10:30 p.m., the two people were arrested at Zellers for shoplifting.
The two suspects were observed by store security removing a number of items from the shelves, removing the packaging and concealing them in baby paraphernalia under the baby carriage they were pushing.
A search of the carriage revealed more than a dozen blue ray DVD's and an assortment of other stolen items were concealed in various places throughout the carriage.
A 26 Year old Picton male and a 22 year old Belleville female were arrested and charged with Theft Under. Both were released on an Appearance Notice with a court date set in October 2009.
