Belleville, Ontario – Police responded to 15 accidents throughout the day. Four of these accidents were "Fail to Remain” Accidents:
(a) at 8:45 a.m., a homeowner on Charles St. reported that an unknown vehicle backed into their car
(b) at 3:30 p.m., an older model white panel van sheared off the side mirror of a car parked on East Moira Street
(c ) at 7:00 p.m., a red van struck a parked car on Bridge Street East at Parrott Drive
(d) at 10:30 p.m., a van struck a pole on Sidney Street at College Street West and continued northbound. Officers located this vehicle a short time later on Cannifton Road. A 33 year old Quinte West man was arrested. This investigation is still ongoing. The van sustained damage to the right front tire and had to be towed.
Belleville, Ontario – On August 27th, 2012, at 11:45 p.m., Police attended in the wooded area east of Herchimer Avenue by Station Street. Police discovered an open fire and approximately 130 youths. Belleville Fire Dept. quickly extinguished the blaze. Three people were arrested at the scene. Two of the youths were 16 years of age. They were both charged with being intoxicated in a public place and underage drinking. These fines added up to $190.00. Their parents were notified and the youths were eventually turned over to their care.
Belleville, Ontario – On August 28th, 2012, at 3:00 a.m., Police attended at an east end residence in regards to a complaint of an assault. As a result of an investigation, a 44 year old Belleville man was arrested for an assault. He was released to a courtdate of Sept. 24th, 2012. The victim received minor injuries.
