Assault - Belleville Ontario

 

At approximately 12:00 pm on August 27, 2014 police attended in the area of 15 Bridge St West in Belleville to investigate a report of a disturbance. Several people were involved, and further investigation revealed that a female holding an expandable baton had attempted to strike another person who had a brick. As a result, two females were arrested at the scene and transported to the Belleville Police Service. Lisa Bennett, aged 34, of Belleville and Amanda Sleeper, 34, of Belleville were each charged with two counts of Assault With a Weapon and one count of Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose. They were later released on Promise To Appears with court dates of October 9, 2014. No one was injured as a result of the altercation.

 

Motor Vehicle Collision Belleville, Ontario

 

At approximately 11:47 am on August 27, 2014 police were called to the intersection of College Street East and Cannifton Road to investigate a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a car and a pedestrian. The pedestrian was attended to at the scene by paramedics and transported to Belleville General Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. As a result of the investigation a 52 year old Belleville man was charged with Failing to Yield to a Pedestrian under the Highway Traffic Act.

 

Domestic Dispute Belleville, Ontario

 

At approximately 8:07 pm on August 27, 2014 police were called to a Bridge Street West residence to investigate a report of a domestic dispute involving a male and female. The investigation revealed that the female victim had been assaulted by the male who also had prevented her from leaving the residence during the altercation. The suspect, a 41 year old Belleville resident, was arrested at the scene and transported to the Belleville Police Service. He faces charges of Assault and Forcible Confinement and has been held for a Bail Hearing on August 28th. His name will not be released in order to protect the identity of the victim. She suffered minor injuries and did not require medical attention.

 

Break and Enter Belleville, Ontario.

 

At approximately 11:05 pm on August 27, 2014 police were called to a Sarah Court residence to investigate a report of a break and enter. Sometime between 7:30 pm and 8:30 pm entry was gained to the home through an open garage door while the resident was working in the back yard. A jewelry box containing a quantity of valuables was then taken from one of the bedrooms. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with any information about this occurrence is asked to contact the Belleville Police Service or Quinte Crimestoppers.
