Belleville, Ontario - On December 28, 2009, at 4:30 a.m., police responded to an alarm at Quinte Secondary School. On arrival a rear window of the school was observed to be smashed. Computer equipment was found outside on the building in the immediate area. Officers, with the assistance of a city employee, located three suspects in possession of other computer equipment belonging to the school. The three were arrested and charged.
Smoke Free Act

Belleville, Ontario ? On 28, December, 2009 at 12:15 p.m. a green Ford Van was travelling East on Dundas Street, West and the driver was observed to be talking on a cell phone. Police also observed the driver smoking while two two small children were in the back seat . The vehicle was stopped and the 28 year old male driver from Quinte West was issued a provincial offences notice for smoking in a motor vehicle with two children under the age of 16 years. Further investigation revealed that this male was also a suspended driver and he was therefore issued a summons for driving while under suspension and will appear in Provincial court on 25 January, 2010.
