Belleville ON – On October 28th, at 2:50am police attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of John Street for a traffic offence. The vehicle refused to stop, ran a red light and fled from police at a high rate of speed. Police discontinued pursuing the vehicle and a short time later the vehicle had crashed into a tree, metal bike stand and other objects on Front Street causing damage to various businesses in the area and rupturing a gas line. The driver fled on foot southbound on Front Street. Residents within a 100m radius of Front and Victoria were evacuated. Fire and Union Gas repaired the gas leak and people were allowed to return to the homes at 4:30am.




Belleville ON - On October 27th 2017, at 7:00pm the Cobourg Police Service arrested a 38 year old Cobourg man on an outstanding warrants from Belleville for Possession of Stolen Property and Breach of Probation. The male was taken to the Belleville Police Service and later released to a court date in November.


Bail Violation


Belleville ON – On October 27th 2017, at 10:00pm police were called to attend a residence on Bleecker Ave. with regard to a surety revocation. A 30 year old Belleville woman was arrested for no longer having a surety. She was held for a bail hearing later today.
