Belleville Police Service responded to 96 calls for service from the 27th of September 2019 at 5:00 a.m. to the 28th of September at 5:00 a.m.
Belleville, Ontario – On the 27th of September at 3:15 pm police were called to a financial institution in the city’s north end with regards to a male who was attempting to pick up a credit card that he procured using the stolen identity of a Barrie, Ontario area male. A 28 year old Toronto male Asmerom Tsegay was arrested and taken to The Belleville Police Service where he was later released on a promise to appear. Charges include two counts of possession of an identity document, fraudulently obtaining credit and personation. Tsegay was given a court date of October 17th to answer to the charges.
Arrests on warrants
Belleville, Ontario – On the 27th of September at 8:45 pm, after receiving several calls with regards to a female acting peculiar and wandering into traffic on Victoria Ave., police arrested a 34 year old female on outstanding warrants that Kingston Police held for breaching her probation. The Belleville resident was held briefly at The Belleville Police Service until Kingston Police attended at which point they released her on a promise to appear to attend court in Kingston. Charged with one count of breach of probation is Theresa Kelleher.
Belleville, Ontario – On the 27th of September at 11:45 pm police arrested a 26 year old Belleville male on an outstanding arrest warrant for failing to comply with conditions of his release from previous charges that included fail to attend for court, failing to attend for fingerprinting and trespassing at night. He is being held in custody to appear at a video remand hearing on the 28th of September.
