Theft
Belleville, Ont. ? On 29 August 2009 at approximately 10:17a.m., a report was taken concerning 3 canoes that had been stolen from the area of the Corbyville Dam. A group of people from Western Ontario were on a canoe trip and camped in that area overnight. When they got up in the morning they discovered the canoes missing.
Description: A red Scott 16? Prospector and 2 dark blue Pulaski 16? canoes
Motor Vehicle Collision
Belleville, Ont. ? On the 29 August 2009 at approximately 12:25 p.m., police responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision where one vehicle had ?rolled over? into the ditch on Moira Street West near Tripp Ave. Police observed the vehicle was observed sitting on its wheels however initial information was that the vehicle had completed one complete roll. Minor injuries were reported by the driver however medical treatment was not required. The 35 year old female driver was wearing a seatbelt and the small child was in a car seat that was properly installed. This female has been charged with Careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act.
Power Outage
Belleville, Ont. ? Police were kept busy during the City wide power outage trying to assist at the numerous intersections directing the high volume of traffic. During this time they were also responding to emergency calls for service.
Attempt Break & Enter
Belleville, Ont. ? On the 29 August 2009 at approximately 6:15 p.m., a Charles Street resident reported an attempt Break & Enter to his residence. The resident heard noises at his back door and when he went to investigate he found a male attempting to gained entry to his home. The suspect fled from the area and it appeared to the homeowner that the suspect was surprised to find someone in the house at this time.
While investigating this Break & Enter police located another residence in the immediate area that had been entered as well. Both Break & Enters are currently under investigation.
