The Belleville Police Service responded to 73 calls between August 28th 2019 at 5:00 a.m. and August 29th 2019 at 5:00 a.m.

Arrested on warrants

Belleville, ON – On August 28th 2019 at 6:00 p.m., police received a male into custody who was wanted on an arrest warrant for the offence of failing to comply with a recognizance.  The man, 26-year old Jordon MacDonald of Quinte West, was located and taken into custody by the Quinte West OPP.  He was transported to the Belleville Police Service and processed on the warrant.  He has been released from custody on a promise-to-appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville in September. 

Impaired driver

Belleville, ON – On August 29th 2019 at 1:38 a.m., police attended to the area of Dundas Street East and Haig Road for a report of a motor vehicle being driven onto the train tracks.  Upon arrival, police observed Belleville Fire to be on scene and speaking with a male driver.  The involved vehicle was stuck partially on the tracks and leaning towards a ditch.  After further investigation, police arrested the driver.  There was heavy damage to the motor vehicle.  After further investigation, 32-year old Gordon Thomas of Belleville was charged with impaired operation of a conveyance and exceeding 80 mgs of alcohol.  He has been released from custody on a promise-to-appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in September.
