Theft from Vehicles

Belleville, Ontario ? On December 28th, 2011 at 4:35 am, police responded to a call of a suspicious male on Cedar Street. A witness advised police that he observed a male crouching down near his neighbor's vehicle and then this same male then entered the witness's driveway and was seen near his vehicle. As a result, the witness confronted the male and he fled on foot. Police attended the area and located the male matching the description on Catherine Street. Robert Deryaw, age 39 was arrested and charged with Prowl by Night, Theft under and Possession of Stolen Property. He was released with a court date of January 26, 2012. (BE11019650)

Assault and Utter Threats

Belleville, Ontario ? On December 28th, 2011 at 5:48 pm, police responded to a call of an unwanted person on Turnbull Street. Police attended and as a result of an investigation, a 54 year old male was arrested and charged with Assault, two counts of Utter Threats and Mischief. He is being held for a show cause hearing on December 29th.

Motor Vehicle Collision

Belleville, Ontario ? On December 29th, 2011 at 218 am, police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Hwy 2 and Mitchell Road. The 32 year old female driver was taken to hospital by ambulance with minor injuries. The driver indicated that she was driven off the road by a dark colored sedan heading eastbound on Hwy 2 . Alcohol was not a factor in this collision and the investigation is continuing.
