Domestic Assault

Belleville, Ontario ? On the 29th of July 2009 at approximately 7:00pm, a woman came to the Belleville Police Service to report that she had been assaulted by an ex boyfriend earlier in the day.  As a result of the investigation a  23year old Prince Edward County man turned himself in later in the evening and remains in custody for a bail hearing on the 30th of July 2009.  He is charged with one count of Break& Enter, Uttering threats and Domestic Assault.

 
Highway Traffic Act

Belleville, Ontario ? On the 29th of July 2009 at approximately 7:23 pm, Police conducted a vehicle stop after observing erratic driving.  As a result, a 38 year old female was charged with Careless Driving and Drive Motor Vehicle with No License.

 
Liquor Licence Act

Belleville, Ontario -  At approximately 8:55 pm, Police were called to a central east hill location in relation to an intoxicated male causing problems.  As a result, a 51 year old Belleville man was arrested for his own protection and lodged in cells. He was later released with a Provincial Offences Notice for Public Intoxication.

 
At approximately 11:12 pm, Police were called to a Tracey Street apartment complex in relation to two intoxicated males.  Police arrived on scene and took a 37 year old Marmora man into custody for his own protection.  He was later released on a Provincial Offences Notice for Public Intoxication.   

 

Theft  from Vehicles

Belleville, Ontario ? On the 30th of July 2009 at approximately 1:47 am, an Officer on patrol observed a vehicle with interior lights on at a residence on Tracey Park Drive.  Further investigation revealed that the vehicle had been entered and items stolen.

 
Fire

Belleville, Ontario ? On the 29th of July 2009 at approximately 9:16pm Police and Fire crews were dispatched to a location at the rear of 405 Dundas Street East for a suspicious fire.  Investigation revealed that an intentional fire had been set within the warehouse and suspects had been seen in the area. Anyone with information in relation to this incident is asked to call the Belleville Police Service.

 
Belleville, Ontario - On the 30th of July 2009 at approximately 3:00 am, Officers on foot patrol in the downtown core detected smoke coming from a local hotel and alerted Fire Service crews who quickly attended and extinguished a small fire.  There were no injuries reported to any residents and minor damages sustained to the building.

 

Overall, a fairly steady evening with over forty calls for service as well as numerous inquiries on the phones.
