The Belleville Police Service responded to 101 calls for service between June 28th, 2019 at 5:00 a.m. and June 29th, 2019 at 5:00 a.m.

Suspicious Person

Belleville, Ontario – On the 28th of June 2019 at 11:36 p.m. Police conducted a traffic stop on a suspected suspended driver. An investigation revealed that the 51 year old Belleville male was in fact a suspended driver. He was charged with Driving While Under Suspension and given a court date in July to face the charges.

MTO Safety Blitz

Belleville, Ontario – On the 28th of June 2019 the Belleville Police Service Traffic Safety Unit conducted one of their annual commercial motor vehicle safety and compliance enforcement campaigns. These initiatives are focused on commercial motor vehicles or those motor vehicles that appear to be unsafe, and have a direct impact on road safety in our community.

Partner agencies from MTO, Kingston Police, and OPP attended and assisted. 19 inspections were conducted resulting in a total of 6 vehicles taken out of service for major safety/mechanical defects, resulting in 5 charges and 2 suspended drivers.

 

Motor Vehicle Collision

Belleville, Ontario – On the 28th of June 2019 at 2:57 p.m. Police attended the area of Emily Street near Lingham Street regarding a young male who was struck by a motor vehicle while riding his long board. The male received minor injuries and the vehicle did not remain at the scene. Police are looking for any witnesses that may have observed the make, model and colour of the vehicle or were able to obtain licence plate information.

Belleville, Ontario – On the 28th of June 2019 at 7:59 a.m. Police attended the area of Dufferin Avenue regarding a two vehicle collision. Minor injuries were reported and the investigation is ongoing. If you have any information please contact Constable Wells at jwells@police.belleville.on.ca .
