Theft of Vehicle/Police Pursuit/MVC
Belleville, On - On the 13th of October 2012 at approximately 3:55 am Belleville Police Service officers attempted to stop a motor vehicle that had been reported stolen at 1:40 am to the Belleville Police Service.. The vehicle driver failed to stop for Police, a brief suspect apprehension pursuit ensued, with the officer discontinuing the pursuit due to concerns for public safety. The suspect vehicle was located near Bridge Street East and William Street where the vehicle had struck a tree. The driver had fled the scene on foot but was located nearby and arrested by the officers. A quantity of personal items was located and through investigation learned that numerous thefts from vehicles had occurred.
After a lengthy investigation, Tyler Daniel McCulloch 19 years, of Picton, Ont. is charged with:
- Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
- Flight from police
- Theft over $5,000
- Possession of stolen property over $5000
- Theft under $5,000 - 11 counts
- Possession of stolen property under $5,000 - 11 counts
- Breach of probation. - 2 counts
He was released from custody and the next court date is November 29, 2012.
