Charges Laid

On October 26, 2010 police reported the following to the media;

Stolen Vehicle (containing medications)

Belleville, Ontario ? On October 26, 2010, at 10:58 a.m., a vehicle driver parked in front of a Victoria Ave convenience store. In the short time the driver was in the store the vehicle was stolen. The vehicle was unlocked and the keys had been left in the vehicle.

The vehicle plate is BKCA191 and is a silver 2009 4 door Dodge Caliber.

The vehicle contained prescription medication that if taken without proper medical supervision could cause harm to a person. The vehicle also contained a wallet and identification belonging to the driver.

A suspect was seen taking the vehicle and is described as a young male wearing a green/black/white jacket described as being similar to camouflage. He was also wearing a ball hat.

A short time later this same suspect used the driver's credit card at a North Front Street store and then minutes later four stores at the Quinte Mall. Witnesses further described the suspect as being approximately 20 years old, tall, thin build and having acne. He was also wearing knee length shorts.

Theft of Motor Vehicle & Use Stolen Credit Card

Belleville, Ontario ? On October 28, 2010, at 10:50 a.m. police responded to a call for service at a Lewis Street address in the west end of Belleville. At that time police located the vehicle that had been reported stolen (BKCA191) on the 26th. Subsequent investigation resulted in an 18 year old Belleville male being arrested. Donavan HUYCKE was charged with three counts of Use a Stolen Credit Card, one count of Theft Over $5000., and one count of Breach of Probation. HUYCKE was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date set in November.
