PURSUIT / MVC & GAS LEAK - WITNESSES

Belleville Police are looking for any witnesses to this incident that might have been on Front Street or the in the area of the foot bridge to contact Constable Waite at 613-966-0882 ext.4083 (mwaite@police.belleville.on.ca) or Quinte Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 

Belleville ON – On October 28th, at 2:50am police attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of John Street for a traffic offence. The vehicle refused to stop, ran a red light and fled from police at a high rate of speed. Police discontinued pursuing the vehicle and a short time later the vehicle had crashed into a tree, metal bike stand and other objects on Front Street causing damage to various businesses in the area and rupturing a gas line. The driver fled on foot southbound on Front Street. Residents within a 100m radius of Front and Victoria were evacuated. Fire and Union Gas repaired the gas leak and people were allowed to return to the homes at 4:30am.

 

BREAK & ENTER

Belleville ON – A Break and Enter occurred sometime between October 2nd and October 28th at a residence on Adrian Court. Thieves made off with 2 shotguns and 3 rifles. Anyone with information is asked to call Quinte Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. 

 

DISTURBANCES

Belleville ON – Police were busy dealing with lots of Halloween party related disturbances. Two adult females were arrested in related incidents for public intoxication.
