Arson and Mischief
Belleville, Ontario ? On August 2, 2010, at 1:00 a.m., Belleville Police and Belleville Fire Department responded to a fire on Emily Street. Suspects set fire to a couch that was sitting in the front of the house. Belleville Police Service and Belleville Fire Department are conducting a joint investigation into this deliberately set fire.
Further investigation revealed that a vehicle parked at this location had also been damaged. Suspects slashed the driver's side tires of a van parked in the driveway. It was confirmed that this vehicle was operational prior to the fire being set.

Belleville, Ontario ? On August 2, 2010, 2:30 a.m., an officer on patrol was stopped southbound on North Front Street at a set of red lights. He observed a vehicle exit a lot on North Front St and accelerate rapidly northbound. The officer clocked the vehicle on radar travelling 104k/m in a 50k/m zone. The officer turned around in an attempt to stop the vehicle which was now travelling northbound over the 401 overpass.
As he approached the officer observed the same vehicle exit a parking lot on Highway 62 at Millennium Drive. The vehicle accelerated at an extremely high rate of speed and was observed now travelling southbound back onto North Front Street. The vehicle was clocked on radar travelling 117k/m in a 60k/m zone. The vehicle was stopped by police and as a result a 20 year old Carrying Place woman was issued a Part 3 Summons for Stunt Driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
The owner of the vehicle, a 35 year Quebec male, who was also a passenger in the vehicle, was issued a part 3 Summons for Permit Driving of a Motor Vehicle Nitrous Oxide Fuel System Connected. Both court dates were set for September 2010. The vehicle was towed and impounded where it will remain for a period of 7 days. The Driver was also issued a 7 day licence suspension.
Belleville, Ontario ? On August 1, 2010, at 8:56 p.m., an officer on patrol heard the squeal of tires on Bell Blvd. He then observed two vehicles racing at an excessive rate of speed west bound on Bell Blvd from the lights at the Quinte Mall. Both vehicles were stopped and both drivers were issued a Part 3 Summons for Stunt Driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The drivers, an 18 year old Corbyville male and a 24 year old Belleville male, were also issued a 7 day licence suspension as well as having their vehicles impounded for 7 days. Both will appear in court in September 2010.
Belleville, Ontario ? On August 2, 2010, at 3:00 p.m., a resident on Grier Street reported two ATV Ramps were stolen from his property. The ramps are 7 feet in length and are made of aluminum with a value of $200.00. The ramps were taken sometime after 12 noon and the 3 p.m. on this same date.

Belleville, Ontario ? On August 2, 2010, a business on Wilson Ave reported a Break & Enter that occurred sometime over the weekend. Police are still investigating the point of entry however once inside suspects removed approximately $800.00 in hand tools. This incident in still under investigation.
