Belleville, Ontario ? On 02 February 2012, at 5:15 p.m. police attended at a residence on Johnson Street in response to. Investigation revealed that unknown person(s) forced entry and stole and alcohol. This occurred between 5:30 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. This investigation is ongoing.


Belleville, Ontario ? On 02 February 2012, at 11:50 p.m., Police received several calls about a man assaulting a woman on N. Front St. at Tracey St. One of the callers added that the male was dragging the woman by her hair. It was learned that a passerby had intervened and was holding the male suspect on the ground. Police attempted to handcuff this male who started to resist by kicking at the Officers. At this point one of the Officers was punched by the female victim. This female also spit on the Officer. Both parties were taken into custody. It was learned that the male suspect had also punched the citizen in the face prior to Police arrival. A 23 year old Belleville man faces charges of Domestic Assault, Assault (on the citizen), and Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest. He was held for a Bail Hearing.

A 20 year old Belleville woman was charged with two counts of Assaulting a Police Officer. She will appear in court on March 15th, 2012.

There were minor injuries only in this incident. No one required medical attention.
