Further Release from Robberies on 1 July 2012.

Belleville, Ontario - on 1 July 1, 2012 at 4:25 a.m. police responded to a 911 call to a residence on Yeoman Street where the victim(s) reported that upon returning to their residence they confronted 3 unknown males within the home. The victim(s) were sprayed by pepper spray. The suspects fled on foot.

At 5:06 a.m. police responded to a second 911 call to a residence located on Moodie Street where that victim reported to being awoke by the forced entry into the residence by unknown people. The suspects were attempting to steal the resident's property but fled on foot after spraying the resident with pepper spray.

At 5:32 a.m. police arrested a 17 year old Belleville male and 16 year old Trenton male in the area of Benjamin Street in relation to these robberies.

The 17 year old Belleville male has been charged with:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking 3 counts
  • Robbery 2 counts
  • Break and Enter 2 counts
  • Assault with a Weapon 2 counts
  • Assault cause Bodily Harm 2 counts
  • Fail to comply with sentence or disposition 2 counts
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

The 16 year old Trenton male has been charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime 2 counts
  • Robbery 2 counts
  • Break and Enter 2 counts
  • Assault with a Weapon 2 counts
  • Assault cause Bodily Harm 2 counts
  • Possession of Prohibited Weapon while prohibited
  • Possession of Weapon for dangerous purpose

Both males are scheduled to appear in bail court on Tuesday 3 July, 2012. anyone with any information in relation to this investigation is asked to call Belleville Police Service at 613 966-0882 or Crime Stoppers at 613 969-8477.

 

Drugs

Belleville, Ont. On July 2nd, 2012 at approximately 7:30 PM police stopped a vehicle on Herchimer Ave. During the stop a small quantity of marijuana was located inside the vehicle. Charged with possession of a controlled substance is 32 year old Scott Andrews of Belleville. Further, 30 year old Travis Toddhunter of Belleville was charged with breach of probation and highway traffic act violations.

Arrest warrant

Belleville, Ont. On July 2nd, 2012 at approximately 11:30 PM an officer on patrol in the downtown area observed a male who had an outstanding arrest warrant for break and enter in relation to an incident in Belleville. 30 year old Michael Mercer of Belleville was arrested without incident and held for a bail hearing on July 3rd, 2012.
