Belleville, Ontario On December 29th, 2013 at 5:18 p.m. police responded to a disturbance at a west end residence. The initial information that was received was that a 14 year old girl had threatened other occupants in the home with a knife, and that one of the rooms was on fire. Belleville Fire Department attended as well and it was determined that a fire extinguisher had been discharged in the room. There was no actual fire. The 14 year old girl was arrested and held for a bail hearing on charges of weapons dangerous, mischief to property and breach of probation. No one was injured in this incident. Her name cannot be released under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.


Belleville, Ontario On December 29th, 2013 at 6:45 p.m. police and Belleville Fire Department attended at a porch fire at a Coleman Street residence. The Fire Department quickly extinguished the blaze. There was no one home at the time and the damage was minimal. The fire is deemed to be suspicious in nature and as a result this investigation is continuing.
