Arrest on warrants

Belleville, Ontario – On July 29th, 2017, at 5:05 a.m. officers attended a domestic disturbance call in a parking lot on Bridge Street West at Sidney Street. A check revealed that the 34-year old male was wanted by the Belleville Police Service for two counts of breach of probation. He was held for a bail hearing. No charges arising from the disturbance.

 

On July 29th, 2017, at 8:32 p.m. a domestic disturbance on South George Street continued into the parking lot of the police station. A check on the 20-year old male revealed that he was wanted by the Belleville Police Service on charges of assault and failing to appear in court. He was arrested and walked into the cellblock. No charges arising from the disturbance. He was released with a courtdate of August 14th.

 

Motor vehicle Collisions

Belleville, Ontario – On July 29th, 2017, at 10:23 a.m. police attended at the intersection of Station Street and Albion Street as a cyclist had struck a stopped vehicle. The cyclist was taken to BGH by EMS and later released with minor injuries. There were no charges.

 

On July 29th, 2017, at 10:26 a.m. police attended on Old Hwy 2 at Mitchell Road in relation to a two-car accident. Both cars were towed from the scene. One of the drivers was charged with careless driving. There were no injuries.

 

 

Traffic-related incidents

Belleville, Ontario – On July 29th, 2017, at 7:29 p.m. a traffic stop on College Street West revealed that the 27-year old male driver was a suspended driver. His car was impounded for seven days. He was charged and will appear in court on August 28th.

 

At 8:58 p.m. a traffic stop on North Front Street revealed that the 67-year old male driver was a suspended driver. He was charged and will appear in court on August 28th.

 

At 9:45 p.m. an officer conducted a traffic stop on Cannifton Road North. The driver, a 23-year old male, was charged with “rendering false information of insurance” and “driving with no insurance”. He will appear in court on September 11th.

 

At 10:58 p.m. a traffic stop on Wallbridge-Loyalist Road revealed that the 26-year old male driver was a suspended driver. He was charged and will appear in court on August 28th.

 

At 11:54 p.m. an officer conducted a traffic stop on Donald Street. The 40-year old female driver was charged with “driving while unlicenced”. She was issued a provincial offence notice.

 

 

Intoxicated person

Belleville, Ontario – On July 30th, 2017, at 3:15 a.m. an officer on patrol observed a male stumbling on Front Street. The male proceeded to urinate while on the Upper bridge. A 45-year old Belleville man was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. He was charged with public intoxication and issued a provincial offence notice.
