The Belleville Police Service responded to 72 calls for service between June 29th, 2019 at 5:00 a.m. and June 30th, 2019 at 5:00 a.m.
False 911 calls lead to arrest
Belleville, ON On 29 June 2019 at 9:00 pm, Belleville Police began receiving multiple 911 calls from an intoxicated male demanding a ride home. Police received another call that the same male had made his way into an apartment building and was causing a disturbance. Police attended and located the male. Gordon Johnson, 36, of Tyendinaga was arrested and charged with breaching a condition of his probation. He will appear in court in July.
Impaired driver
Belleville ON, On 29 June 2019 at 8:30 pm, Belleville Police received information from the OPP that a possible impaired driver was coming into the city. Police were told that a grey Subaru had struck another vehicle in the Shannonville area and fled the scene. Police located the vehicle on highway 2 as it entered the city. After speaking with the driver, he was arrested for impaired driving. Chanse Brant-Maracle, 21, of Belleville was charged with impaired driving, over 80 mgs, three counts of breach of probation, and failing to remain at the scene of a collision. He will appear in court in July.
Arrested on warrants
Belleville On, On 29 June at 11:00 pm, Belleville Police were contacted by Prince Edward OPP regarding a male wanted on warrants at Sandbanks Park. Kolby Embury, 22, of Demorestville, was wanted on warrants for failing to comply with probation. He was returned to Belleville.
