Missing Elderly Male- LOCATED

Belleville, Ontario ? On 27 September, 2011 at 4:30 p.m., William (Bill) Deshane (73 years) went missing from the area of Dundas Street, East and Bleecker Avenue.

Deshane was last seen at approximately 6:00 p.m. near the boat launch at Keegan Parkway walking westbound on the pathway.

Belleville Police Service search managers responded immediately with a coordinated 24/7 search.

On 30 September, 2011 at 4:45 p.m., police received a 911 call from a citizen in relation to observing a disoriented elderly male while riding his ATV on commercial property in an area north of Point Ann.

Belleville Police Service was joined by Belleville Fire Department and Hastings County EMS earlier on 30 September, 2011 to assist in the ongoing coordinated search effort for Deshane that began on 27 September, 2011. All services were already in the area and responded to the 911 call collectively.

At 5:16 p.m. the identity of the disoriented male was confirmed as William Deshane.

Deshane was transported to BGH where he remains for assessment and treatment.

Belleville Police Service would like to acknowledge and thank the 20 year old, Point Ann, male whose swift actions directly assisted in locating Mr. Deshane. As well, Belleville Police would like to thank our local media partners for their assistance in keeping the community informed throughout the search and finally our community members for relaying tips.
