The Belleville Police Service responded to 56 calls for service between December 29th, 2018 at 5:00 a.m. and December 30th, 2018 at 5:00 a.m.
Motor Vehicle Collision
Belleville, Ontario – On December 29th, 2018 at 2:35 p.m., police attended at Bradgate Road and Cooke Court for a two-car collision. One car was towed from the scene. One of the drivers was charged with disobeying a stop sign. No one was injured.
Fraud//Traffic Enforcement
Belleville, Ontario – On December 29th, 2018 at 3:45 p.m., police attended at a north end business in relation to a fraud complaint. The complaint centred on a fraudulent return. A 33-year old Belleville man was charged with “engaging in prohibited activity” under the Trespass to Property Act. He was issued a provincial offence notice and released.
At 4:27 p.m. this male was observed driving on North Front Street by one of the investigating officers. This male was known to be a suspended driver. He was charged with “driving while under suspension” and will appear in Traffic Court on February 5th, 2019.
Disturbance
Belleville, Ontario – On December 30th, 2018 at 1:50 a.m., police attended in a parking lot of a licenced establishment on North Front Street in relation to a large disturbance. A 26-year-old Belleville man was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. He was issued a provincial offence notice for being intoxicated in a public place.
RIDE Program
Belleville, Ontario – On December 29th and 30th, 2018, the RIDE Team set up multiple checkpoints around the City. A total of 189 cars were checked. No charges were laid.
