Public Intoxication
Belleville, Ont. - On July 31, 2009, at approximately 2:00 a.m., officers were patrolling in the area of a North Front Street. Police observed a male causing problems. He was asked to leave the area with friends. The male became abusive and was arrested for public intoxication. He was transported to the Belleville Police Service and lodged in the cells for his own protection.
Break and Enters
Belleville, Ont. - On July 31, 2009,Belleville Police Service are investigating 4 break and enters which took place overnight in the City. Three separate businesses were entered at College and Cannifton Road, an amount of cash was stolen. A separate business at Bell and Sidney Street was entered as well, nothing taken. All 4 received damage to property as a result of smashed glass.
Police are following up on Forensic Evidence left at the scene.
Motor Vehicle Collision
Belleville, Ont. - On July 31, 2009, at 3:30pm Belleville Police Service, responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Coleman and Dundas Street West. Two vehicles were involved with one occupant requiring medical attention at Belleville General Hospital. Investigation continuing into possible charges.
Bail Violations
Belleville, Ont. ? On 31 July 2009, at approximately 3:03pm, police were called to a Moira Street West residence. A 40 year old Belleville male was located inside the residence and upon further investigation found that he was on an Undertaking with conditions not to communicate with a 39 year old female and not be at that residence.
This same female was found to be also in the residence. The male was charged with two counts of Fail to Comply with an Undertaking and held for a Show Cause hearing.
Belleville, Ont. ? On 31 July 2009 at approximately 7:47 p.m. a female attended at the Belleville Police Service to report some harassing/threatening phone calls that she was receiving continually throughout the day. Further investigation revealed that the caller was on Probation with a condition to have no contact with the female. A 48 year old Belleville male was arrested for Criminal Harassment, Uttering Threats and Breach of Probation. He is being held for a Show Cause Hearing.
