Belleville, Ontario ? On December 31, 2009, at 9:08 a.m., police responded to Frank Street residence in response to a complaint of dispute. It was alleged a 32 year old Belleville male and the victim became involved in argument in the victim's residence. The argument escalated and became physical. The victim eventually got the male out of her residence and at that time called police. The male was arrested and charged with one count of assault. He was later released with a February 2010 court date.
Belleville, Ontario ? On December 31, 2009, at 7:48 p.m., police responded to an Applewood Drive residence in response to a 911 call. It was alleged a 44 year old Coleman Street man was at the victim's residence and became frustrated. A physical altercation ensued which lead to the male assaulting the female. The victim freed herself and the male left the residence. The victim was taken to BGH for assessment and was released with no treatment. The male was located a short distance from the residence by police and advised he was under arrest for assault, the male fled on foot and struck at two police officers and ripped a portable radio off of one officer. The male was eventually subdued and has been charged with two counts of resist arrest, one count of escape lawful custody and one count of assault. The male will appear for a bail hearing on January 1, 2010.
Belleville, Ontario ? On December 31, 2009, at 10:24 p.m., police responded to a report of a domestic dispute at a residence on Tracey Park Drive. Police observed a man in an argument with the resident. The male fled the residence from a rear exit and was observed re-entering the residence via the basement window. The male eventually emerged from the basement. After the male was identified, further investigation revealed the male had been charged with two counts of assault (on the resident) on December 18, 2009, and had been released on an Officer In Charge Undertaking with conditions and a court date in February 2010. The male was found to be breaching conditions of the Undertaking. There were no allegations or signs of an assault. The 21 year old male has been charged with 3 counts of Breach of Undertaking and will appear for a bail hearing on January 1, 2010.
Belleville, Ontario ? Belleville Police conducted the R.I.D.E. program overnight at various locations throughout the City. A total of 500 vehicles were checked with no roadside screen device tests administered. There were no charges laid.
Belleville, Ontario ? On 31 December 2009, at 5:27 p.m., police responded to a suspicious person complaint in the Yeoman Street area. A male described as approximately 5'8?, young appearance, wearing jeans and a black hoody was observed on the complainant's step looking in her window. The area was searched but suspect was not located. This investigation is ongoing.
