Dangerous DUI

On 31 January 2016 at 12:17 a.m. Belleville Police were called by a citizen on North Park Street after a red SUV was observed doing “donuts” then striking and damaging a parked car and then speeding down the road. A responding Patrol Officer observed the vehicle speeding through a parking lot in the area of North Front Street and Tracey Street driving recklessly near pedestrians. The suspect driver attempted to evade police down the rear alley of a plaza and then attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended by Officers.  

A 33 year old man from British Columbia is being held for a bail hearing on Monday and is charged with:

Impaired Driving

Refuse Breath Test

Dangerous Driving

Breach Recognizance (five counts)

A 27 year old woman, also from British Columbia, who was a passenger in the vehicle became disruptive and threw items at police while the man was being arrested. She was arrested and charged with public intoxication and held in the cells until sober.

Disturbances

On 31 January 2016 at 1:51 a.m. a disturbance and altercation on North Front Street resulted in a 20 year old Brighton woman landing in the police cells charged with public intoxication. She was held until sober.  At 3:11 a.m. another disturbance and altercation on North Front Street resulted in a 28 year old Belleville man being arrested and charged with public intoxication. He was also held until sober.
