The Belleville Police Service responded to 63 calls between July 30th 2019 at 5:00 a.m. and July 31st 2019 at 5:00 a.m.

Stunt Driving

Belleville ON- On July 30th 2019 at 10:00 am, an officer conducting radar on Old Highway #2 clocked at a vehicle travelling 59 km/h over the posted speed limit.  The vehicle was stopped and a 33 year-old male was charged with stunt driving, given a court date in September, and had his vehicle held for 7 days.

Bad Trip

Belleville ON- On July 30th 2019 at 6:20 pm, police responded to the westend for a report of a male acting in a bizarre manner in the middle of the street.  Police located the 35 year-old male and determined he was suffering from a street drug induced reaction.  The male was arrested for his own protection and held in custody until sober.

Driving complaint leads to multiple charges

Belleville ON- On July 31st at 12:30 am, police were notified about a vehicle driving the wrong way on a one way street in the downtown area.  Officers located the vehicle a short time later with two adults and two young children in the back seat.  The 36 year-old female passenger provided a fake name to the officers, but unfortunately, the name she provided returned with an outstanding warrant.  The female was arrested and eventually her identify was confirmed.  After learning the correct name it was determined that the 32 year-old male driver was on current court conditions not to be around the female.  The male driver was arrested for breaching his release conditions and resisting arrest.  Quantities of suspected crystal methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine and pills were located upon both of their arrests.  The male passenger was additionally charged with 4 counts of trafficking and proceeds of crime.  He was held for a bail hearing.  The female passenger was also charged with 4 counts of trafficking, proceeds of crime and obstruct police.  She was released with a September court date.
