Media release- Community Safety Plan Townhall events

The Belleville Police Service in conjunction with the Belleville Police Services Board are holding two Townhall events in April.  The dates of events, locations, and time for events are as follows;

  • 13th of April,  6:30pm-8:00pm at the Gerry Masterson Centre on Harmony Road - Thurlow, and
  • 14th of April, 6:30pm-8: pm at the Parkdale Community Centre, Main Auditorium at 119 Birch Street, Belleville.

The Townhall events are for our community citizens to participate in designing the Community Safety Plan for the City of Belleville for the next three years.  We will have members of the Police Service and Police Services Board in attendance to speak with our citizens on general community safety issues, specific concerns, and public safety.  We welcome citizen suggestions on public safety initiatives and citizen ideas regarding the Community Safety plan, and will have designated subject matter experts to address specific ideas, solutions, and concerns in this forum.

We will have experts for you to speak with in the areas of traffic safety, elder citizen safety; school aged young citizens, environmental issues, police training, criminal investigations, auxiliary policing, front line response, and leadership in policing.

Our aim is to have dialogue and gather as much citizen advice, feedback, ideas, and solutions in community safety planning as possible during these events.   We are looking forward to seeing you at the Townhall events, and hope that you can join us. Please feel free to arrive at any time during the noted timeframes for the events as we know that our citizens have other commitments and responsibilities.
