Suspicious Incident Follow-up

 

Belleville, Ontario On October 30th 2014, the couple portrayed in this incident reported to police and provided officers with an explanation for their actions.  Police will not be laying charges.  Police wish to thank the different media sources and the public for their efforts to assist in identifying the persons responsible for this suspicious incident.

Suspicious Incident- Belleville, Ontario

 

On Tuesday October 28th 2014 at approximately 4:35pm, Quinte Mall security received information that an unknown male and female approached a mother and her young child inside the Mall asking to take photos of the child.  The couple was told "No Security footage shows the female suspect stepping back and taking a picture of the child against the mothers wishes.  The mother took hold of her child and quickly walked away from the situation.  Quinte Mall security attempted to locate the suspect couple, but the couple had already left the property.  Further examination on the security monitors displayed the suspects sitting on a bench in front of Winners at approximately 3:57pm taking pictures of children sitting with their mother on the bench behind them facing Telus.  It is believed that in this occurrence the mother and her children had no idea the suspects were kneeling behind them taking photos. 

 

Suspect #1 is described as male, Caucasian, balding blondish hair, approximately 58-510 in height, with light facial hair, clean cut, early to mid-40s in age, wearing a green jacket and possibly a scarf around his neck.  This male spoke clear English.

 

Suspect #2 is described as female, Aboriginal or South-East Asian, longer dark  hair.  This suspect did not speak.  She simply smiled at the child the entire time.  It is described that this suspect was "fixated in staring at the  young child.  This suspect appeared to be in her late 30s to early 40s, wearing a dark purplish jacket, jeans, and having dark, long and wavy hair.
